Sayers College, small, friendly, and fiercely independent, sat all in a heap at the bottom of a great sprawl of hills thrown casually across the great flat expanse of land in the middle of the Midwest. Small wonder their mascot was the chipmunk.
The college professed a great interest in the well-being of its students, and much attention was paid to the organization and development of a rigorous, universal, and historically- (though not always politically-) correct curriculum. This led to difficulties with self-important students whose parents whined on their behalf to the school board, but these types were quickly weeded out, and Sayers slowly, steadily, securely became known for its academic integrity and social ineptitude. Nevertheless, as companies across the country and throughout the world continued to demand Sayers brains, and as fresh brains continuously applied to the college, Sayers was in no danger of being whined down.
LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI second Erin's opinion.
